Mission Statement

To increase the competitiveness and competencies of manufacturers' in the Kawartha's by:

• Providing a forum for sharing information, ideas and resources.
• Promoting continuous improvement through eucation in contemporary management and manufacturing practices.
• Improving the appreciation of manufacturing and its contribution to regional quality of life.
• Improving links between education, other manufcturers and government.
  

This will be a year of change for the KMA, moving away from the traditional dinner meetings and focussing on more in-depth information sessions, plant tours and best practice-networking sessions.  Among the initiatives the Executive will be working on are:

-expanding the industrial tax rate initiative

-synergies with Northumberland & Quinte Associations

-associate membership with Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters

-pursuing opportunities for Government funding for Innovation focussed training

-establishing a portal for low cost, online Health & Safety training

-participation in the Coalition of Ontario Manufacturers for Competitive Electrical Rates.

-raising the profiles of the Kawarthas and Eastern Ontario as clusters of Innovative Manufacturing.

 

The broader our membership of manufacturers in the Kawarthas, the stronger our voice will be when speaking on your behalf to the various levels of Government and the more flexibility we'll have at attracting the most knowledgeable experts for the in-depth sessions.
