This is an opportunity for manufacturers to provide issues/ideas/comments/concerns to the provincial government in preparation for the next government fiscal year budget and planning process. This will be an ideal time to bring forward provincial requests such as continued funding of the Eastern Ontario Development Fund, the Rural Economic Development fund and other provincial matters that may have an impact on your manufacturing business. We hope that you or a designate are able to take advantage of these opportunities and participate in the discussion with your manufacturing colleagues and government representatives.

12. ****************************************************************** Two federal government apprenticeship grants available through Service Canada http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/goc/apprenticeship.shtml Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG) is a taxable cash grant available to registered apprentices once they have successfully completed their first or second year/level (or equivalent) of an apprenticeship program in one of the Red Seal trades. Here is the Red Seal trade designation by province or territory. Apprentices should be aware that there is a deadline to apply. As part of Canada's Economic Action Plan, the Government made a commitment to encourage skilled trades and apprenticeships by investing $40 million per year in an ongoing Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG) program which complements the existing Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG). It is estimated that approximately 20,000 apprentices will be eligible each year for the ACG. 13. ****************************************************************** Canada Business Ontario Industry Canada is also collaborating with ServiceOntario to offer the Business Info Line (1-888-745-8888).
